Reason for Rehoming: When Jobob is roaming free owner’s young child becomes afraid
Jobob is a very special rooster with a big personality. He is funny, curious and confident, but what really makes him stand out is how devoted he is to his girls.
Jobob takes his role as protector very seriously. He looks after his hens, finds them food, guides them around and makes sure they are safe. He is often the last one to go to bed, patiently waiting outside the pen if one of his girls is taking her time coming in. He won’t settle down until everyone is safely tucked away.
And when it comes to food, even though blueberries are his absolute favourite treat, Jobob will make sure his girls have eaten before he has a bite himself. 💙
He has a lovely, gentle nature and is respectful of other birds, including ducks, ibis, lorikeets and other native birds. He is also comfortable around cats and dogs and trusts the family dog to be nearby without any fuss
Jobob is a loyal and dedicated boy who would make a wonderful addition to the right home. With a decent-sized, secure pen, Jobob could potentially be an in-pen rooster, although he is accustomed to free-ranging and exploring around two acres with his flock.
A home with adults experienced with roosters would be ideal.
