Needing to rehome an animal can be a traumatic experience for all involved. We are here to take the weight off and assure your animal is rehomed safely and efficiently and to a well matched home.

We are a not-for-profit organisation running a Home-to-Home service. This means that all our animals are adopted from the home, foster care, rescue, or shelter they currently reside in, and go directly to their new homes when they become available. We take great care in finding the right homes for our animals.

To ensure successful adoptions, we recommend a listing fee specific to the species. This fee covers a Facebook ad that we target to their ideal local adopter. If the ad doesn’t reach an adopter as quickly as desired, they have the option to add funds to boost the ad and increase its visibility to more people.

As part of our process, all our animals undergo a health and temperament assessment. We collaborate directly with veterinarians to obtain and verify information shared by the rehomer, including details about the animal’s temperament and whether they have been desexed.

In addition to the assessment, the only associated rehoming costs include a one-month flea, tick, and worm treatment administered 24 hours prior to handover to the adopter (if due), as well as arranging the microchip transfer papers (available for $10 through the microchip registrar).

We take care of the adopter screening process, carefully selecting the best-suited individual or family based on the information provided by the rehomer during the sign-up process. Once we find “the one” loving home for their animal, we inform the rehomer and exchange contact information between the adopter and the rehomer to facilitate the handover.

Staying connected is important to us. Adopters and rehomers have the option to stay in touch with each other over time, fostering a sense of community and providing updates on the animal’s well-being if they wish.

While we can’t guarantee specific time frames, our current average rehoming durations are as follows: 48 hours for dogs, 4 days for cats, 24 hours for horses and birds, and 4 weeks for bonded cats and dogs. Our priority is finding loving homes for all species, including birds, fish, farmed animals, and domestic pets of all sizes.
