For anyone adopting cats into homes with other cats here is an important tip.

We recommend when introducing cats together that you provide a ‘landing room’ for the new cat to settle into. A bathroom, laundry or bedroom. This way, he can get used to the sounds, smells and routine of the home with out the threat of another cat face to face. Some people keep them in a room for 1 day up to 2 weeks, depending on how well the two are getting on through the door and if he is showing interest to get out or just hiding and needing more time.

In the landing room it’s important to have clean kitty litter on one side of the room and food, water, a bed and a hiding spot on the other. Do not ever place food and bed next to a kitty litter.
