The animal shelter was first brought to reality over 150 years ago.

On April 14, 1869, Caroline Earle White and a group of activists established what’s considered to be the first animal shelter. Its mission “to provide as soon as possible, a Refuge for lost and homeless dogs, where they could be kept until homes could be found for them, or they be otherwise disposed of.”

It was created for lost and homeless dogs. Not for animals with homes needing new homes. Those animals should be rehomed from where they live – Home to Home adoption.

Running any business the same as it was done 150 years ago would likely be doomed to fail. The way rehoming is being done today is failing animals. It is also failing donors and the environment.

Home to Home adoption is our chosen rehoming method because it is kinder on animals and fitting to rehoming of animals in 2023. It is also faster, more cost effective for donors, environmentally sustainable and scalable- being able to rehome more animals than any shelter ever can.

Adopt, rehome, donate here and you are contributing to a kinder today and future for all animals.

Pictured here is Louie who we rehomed last year – direct from the comfort of his home to his new home with the use of a single FaceBook ad and a few days. See FB reviews from our rehomers and adopters and let us know if we can help you or if you want to help us help more like Louie, by DMing on FB messenger today.
